Police and emergency service personnel spent nearly four hours trying to take two drunks away from the sinkhole in Mount Gambier.
The two men, aged 22 and 23 respectively, recently moved from Western Australia to Mount Gambier, climbing about 2 fences on an observation platform in the center of the town cave garden. 30pm.
Then they entered the sinkhole 20 metres deep with a box of beer.
The men refused to climb out of the sinkhole, insulting the police and the crowd gathered.
Both were drunk and unable to leave the cave, and the young man was injured when he tried to climb out.
Emergency service personnel use negotiators to persuade these people to leave the sink hole and put the ladder down.
Both were arrested and charged with misconduct and subsequently released on bail to the Mount Gambier court.
